Superintendent Joseph Oliver III has 23 years of experience with the BCSO. Joseph started his career as a Correctional Officer in 2000. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2003, Captain in 2010, Major in 2012, and Colonel in 2019. In addition to being a Correctional Officer, Joseph was a member of the Special Response Team (SRT), eventually becoming the SRT Commander. Joseph also served as the Director of the BCSO Training Academy, Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Ash Street, Assistant Superintendent (Colonel), and most recently, Superintendent.
